Lyme Disease
April 10, 2008
Most of my closer clients know I have been suffering some odd health issues that I try to make a brave face for.
I have to announce to the world that I have Lyme Disease. I was misdiganosed for over 8 years, jumping from doctor to doctor because they didnt know what was wrong with me so their answer was to dump me off to someone eles. I have been through tons of mri, ct scans and many other tests. Then one doctor I found did the western blot test that PRoves I have Lyme. Where the regular test showed nothing.
This explains my migraine like symptoms, my double vision and my second attack of Bell's Palsy. It gets hard to find the energy some days and I belive its my love for dogs that keep me so positive.
All my fuzzy friends that come in for a grooming with me seem to give me a little comfort as I give in return. That may sound crazy for some of you but its like therapy for me at times. Even the fussy ones. You need a challange some days too right?
I want everyone to know that I have been...

Vancouver Olympic Dog by Nina Lehtonen CMG
February 22, 2008
Oh I had fun with Jecht's New hair style. I have been puzzling over it for a few months now and finally figured out how to make it look good.
I hand carved the rings to interlink with each other like the photo I had printed off from the internet. Setting the pattern over a month I finally go the dog friendly colour to add the finish.
Here is the New Video showing off Jecht's New Hair Style!! HOPE YOU ALL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS ME!!!

People are Funny!
March 11, 2007
We have had an exciting few weeks now with our self-serve up and running. And to make things more exciting I had coloured my poodles hair pink to stand out. And while I was doing this he desided that I had to have pink hair too. LOL
The funny thing is some of the comments we get with this dramatic change in the colour of my dogs hair.
First of all I want to assure ALL of you that the colour is NOT going to hurt my dog. I most of all speek for thoses home can not speek for themselves. I witness bad things that happen to our fuzzy friends and I try to help correct them aslo in a kind mannor. Why for all this? Well, we had one lady freak out saying that we are cruel to colour our dog and she was going to report us to the humain society. I am shocked!
If she was so conserned on cruelilty on animals I can tell her what she should be mad about!
1. We need to change the housing laws here in BC. I think its cruel to have to give up the family dog because...

SELF-SERVE DOG WASH
February 10, 2007
Some people are unsure What a Self-Service Dog Wash is.
Well, Let me explain….
If you wash your dog at home you need to drag him/her into the bathtub, get on your knee’s. You turn on the shower as it sprinkles lightly barely wetting the fur. Grabbing the soap you rub it into the dry/wet hair while struggling to keep the dog in the tub. As you rock on your knee’s you manage to build up a lather as your dog shakes all over the walls but mostly on you. So, who is having the bath now? After a few hours later you manage to rinse most of the soap out of the fur with only having to put him back into the shower once or twice. Hair now covers the shower walls, the floor and in your mouth. Standing up you feel the revenge your back gets on you as you stretch to ease the pain. You have a happy clean dog, but not a happy owner.
How many times do you want to go through in a month? Does it seem your dog only gets a bath now once a year. And you will rather ...

Wallpaper Is Fun!!
January 25, 2007
I am excited to announce that my plans are a go with providing self-wash dog wash coming soon!
We have been Wallpapering all week, fixing holes and repairing a firewall the old tenants damaged. Lots of work but it will be worth it in the end. Lots of people ask if I can afford it, well, since I am doing most of the work myself, and with the help of family members and friends, my dream of providing more services to our fuzzy friends will become a reality.
It was only 4 years ago that I dreamed of opening a boutique, salon and self-wash. I did want to have daycare too but there is a lack of space. So for the first year I worked hard and I put myself through dog grooming school and fell in love with the job.
To work hands on with all animals (good and bad) and adding my own artistic creative touches makes me so happy it shows on the dogs I groom. So now with the salon open for just over 1 1/2 years my phaze two is forming. I will be the first to provide Self-service Dog Wash here in Abbotsford. How does that feel? I am thrilled! I have heard so many times how...

Self-serve Dog Wash
January 12, 2007
We got the go ahead! Construction or Destruction started yesterday. I am so excited and scared at the same time. This is defently a big step for us, are we realy ready for it? Well, we are willing to take the risk.
Our first plan of action is to gut out and clean the unit beside us. There was so much garbage and misc dirt to clean up and the removal of a counter. I did learn a valuable lesson yesterday. Never wear good pants when doing that kind of work. I ended up with a big rip in my bottom with a nice size scratch to match. Ouch!
Its nice that my layout plans are going to go as planned. Everything is layed out right were things need to be. Like the hotwater tank and all the piping. That saved me alot of stress right there. Now today after a long day of grooming with walls will be washed and the ceiling cleaned up.
We are taking a few pictures and video of our adventure and I will make one up soon for you all to enjoy.
Keep on updating for more info coming soon!

News Of Expansion
December 16, 2006
YUP! Its offical. My neighbour is moving and we will be taking the next unit over as of January. I am under negotiations with the landlord and hopfully we will start construction in the New Year.
Whats going on? Well, we will be putting in Self-wash tubs. So, anyone with Big Hairy dogs are not stuck washing them in the tub or chasing them around the yard with the hose. Plus, we will be reshaping the grooming shop and making some more room for the boutique.
So, with hard work and lots of patience we will be having an Open house cellibrations soon.
Thanks for everyones support!!!
